I had so much fun designing these counted mandala needlepoints.  Both pieces were designed to introduce my thread line, Snipits, to the needlework industry.  When Cheryl Greenman, an avid stitcher in Palantine, IL, stitched Desert Diamonds and submitted it as an entry in the 2006 ANG Exibit, I was honored.  When she won an Honorable Mention for her work, I was thrilled!

I am pleased to offer either or both projects to you in an online class.   In addition to stitching instruction, I will discuss my inspiration and design choices as we work together on a 6 week journey into my four-way needlepoint mandalas.  Please note:  the colors in the photos above will vary depending upon your monitor.  Desert Diamonds appears “pink” on my screen.  However, the color is much more “mauve”.  See Impressions colors 2052, 2054, 2055, & 2056 for a more accurate representation. 

As Kate Gaunt eloquently states in the SNS Announcement:  "Desert Diamonds" is an intermediate level class stitched on 18-ct. black mono canvas. The design size is 8 1/4" square. "Unveiling" is a fun advanced beginner piece stitched on 18-ct. black mono canvas, with a design size of approximately 8 inches square. The cut canvas size of both projects is 12" by 12" (included).  Each project is available as a complete kit. Threads used in the projects include Snipits, Impressions, Kreinik Ombre, and other Rainbow Gallery threads. Students supply their own stretcher bars and tacks.

Important class dates are as follows:

August 1 through August 31 -- registration open

August 31 -- last day for registration

September 15 through October 31 -- online class. Note that this is a six week online class.
